The Power of Pink

Our History

Jill Beam Kougl was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1997 and then again in 2000.  As a way to honor her sister, Karen Beam Leder started The Power of Pink to recognize Jill’s strength, courage, and determination exhibited throughout her treatments and surgeries.  Exercise was a way for Jill to cope with her breast cancer and it is incorporated in most of the events. Many women diagnosed with breast cancer do not have the resources or support that Jill had, so The Power of Pink was started to help these women.
