A Breast Cancer Awareness Fitness Fundraiser in Washington, DC

Every October, the world comes together to shine a light on breast cancer awareness. At Breast Care for Washington (BCW), this month is more than a symbol — it’s a call to action. This year, we’re excited to invite you to Power of Pink ’25, our 14th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Fitness Fundraiser right here in Washington, DC.

Honoring Jill’s Legacy

Power of Pink began with Karen Beam Leder, who created the event to honor her sister, Jill Beam Kougl. Exercise was Jill’s way of finding strength and resilience during her breast cancer journey. Today, her story inspires a movement that helps ensure breast health services are accessible to all women in the DC community.

Event Details: Fitness, Food, and Community

Join us at Community of Hope’s spacious community rooms on Saturday, October 4th, from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM. The day will include:

• A dynamic Fitness Activation led by Wake the 8, featuring warm-up, Zumba, and a yoga cool-down
• A healthy, light lunch from Dionne’s Good Food
• A welcoming, uplifting atmosphere that brings together survivors, supporters, and community members in the fight against breast cancer
• A tour of our facility to see our new iSono whole breast ultrasound.

Individual tickets for attendees and lunch start at $37, representing one-tenth of the out-of-pocket cost for a mammogram.  We welcome and appreciate all donations.  Sponsorship Opportunities are below.
