A Pink & Chic Evening in Support of Breast Care for Washington, DC

October 14 @ 6:30 pm 9:00 pm

SheRecs, a platform for sourcing and sharing trusted self, family, and home care providers, launched in DC and is growing here! As we expand our membership and include health provider recommendations, we’re proud to present A Pink & Chic Evening — a reception to celebrate that growth, honor the providers making a difference for women in our community, and, most importantly, raise money for Breast Care for Washington, DC.

Washington, DC has some of the highest breast cancer incidence and mortality rates in the country. Nationally, there are 122 new cases per 100,000 women each year; across DC the rate is 153.1, and in Ward 8 it reaches 173.9 — the city’s highest. From its newly renovated space in Ward 8, Breast Care for Washington, DC works to reduce breast cancer mortality by promoting access to screenings, diagnostics, and referrals for treatment to all, regardless of ability to pay. BCW serves our city by: delivering care directly to a community hampered by distance and lack of transportation; helping patients coordinate and navigate care through screening initiation, help with public-assistance eligibility, and post-imaging support through biopsy and surgical consults; offering state-of-the-art 3D mammography and other imaging options in a medically underserved community; and being the only DC-area mammography facility that will screen any woman who comes through its doors, regardless of insurance status.

SheRecs exists to make local women’s lives easier, more connected and supported, and especially with the addition of our health list in October, healthier. We can think of no better way to connect with our community in celebration of our health list and to help make women’s lives better across our city than by supporting Breast Care for Washington, DC this October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And Isla — which is pink and chic itself, considered amongst the city’s best new restaurants of 2026, and helmed and co-owned by a female chef — is the perfect setting. Please join SheRecs in supporting Breast Care for Washington, DC by buying a ticket or sponsoring the event; ticket details and sponsorship opportunities available below.
