Breast Care for Washington is proud to honor the memory of Michele Conley, founder of Living in Pink as a 2018 grant recipient. Michele was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998. She made a quick recovery but the experience showed her the importance of having fun and spending time with friends and family. Her motto became the motto for Living In Pink – Live, Love, Laugh… Michele had a recurrence in 2002 and in 2004 she decided to fight back by starting Living In Pink. She realized the fight against breast cancer is a journey that can be a surprisingly life-changing experience for the patients, their family and friends. Her goal became to raise funds for breast cancer research and bring a message of hope and encouragement to others affected by the disease. Michele succumbed to breast cancer in 2014 but her legacy goes on through Living In Pink.
